Victor Chang Achievements

- successfully performed a heart transplant on school girl

-awarded a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) that is the highest honour in Sydney

-performed Australia’s first ever heart transplant

-founded the National Heart Transplant Program at St Vincent’s Hospital

-established the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute
